Financial Services Asset Management With the issue of a Portfolio Management mandate you are transferring the management of your investments to our bank. The assets entrusted to us can be invested in domestic and foreign securities of any kind, without being restricted to one specific country or one specific currency. The agreements concluded between you and Hypo Investment Bank (Liechtenstein) AG are always definitive for this purpose. These agreements contain either one of the 5 basic strategies of investment management as described below, or an individually formulated investment strategy that best meets your own personal risk profile. The Hypo Investment Bank (Liechtenstein) AG then looks after your interests on a representative basis. A Portfolio Management mandate can be terminated at any time. A Portfolio management mandate with our Bank will provide the following advantages:
Interest yielding strategy The primary objective is to secure your investment in combination with a consistent, high return. We invest exclusively in interest-bearing instruments with a very broad diversification. Income strategy The objective here, in addition to capital preservation, is to achieve a regular, calculable income. A narrowly defined portion of the portfolio – between 15 % and 25 % of the investment volume – is invested in equities in order to achieve a higher return than on the capital market over the longer term. Balanced strategy This aims for both a regular income as well as capital appreciation through price gains. Between 30 % and 50 % of your investment volume is invested in equities. Growth strategy The objective of the growth investment strategy is to achieve a higher overall return through capital appreciation via price gains. This does require a greater willingness to accept risk as between 50 % and 70 % of the capital is invested in equities. Capital gain strategy Over the longer term the capital gain investment strategy is focused on achieving a high capital appreciation through price gains. Your entire capital is therefore invested in broadly diversified equities via the «Hypo Global Portfolio Equities» Fund which is used exclusively in Portfolio Management and is managed on a very index-orientated basis. This Fund also considers investments in the capital markets of the emerging national economies. Satellite investment strategy The „Satellite“ strategy is the perfect solution for creating a mixture of investments together with classical ones. The eight-pillar concept is composed of investments in emerging markets stocks, small & mid-caps, emerging markets bonds, high yields, precious metals, agro industry and real estate. It offers a foundation for a wide distribution of risk, whereby the investor enjoys high yield opportunities. For the purpose of avoiding risk, we have chosen to exclude hedge funds, derivatives and structured instruments from this package. A minimum amount of assets is requisite for an optimal diversification of the customer’s portfolio according to currencies and investment categories. The customer assets to be managed should therefore not be less than the equivalent of CHF 500,000.00. Only in this manner can charges and commissions be maintained at the lowest level and a balanced risk dispersement enabled. As regards assets amounting to the equivalent of CHF 100,000.00, a whole range of investment funds is available for customers. In this manner, customers have the advantage of a broad diversification together with an overall low impingement of charges. The assets entrusted to ourselves are subject to continuous control as regards value development as well as compliance with and the realisation of investment guidelines and investment decisions. In accordance with their individual requirements, our customers are informed in detail at regular intervals on the status of the value of their assets. To compensate our services rendered, we charge customers an annual fee.
